To pod or not to pod, that is the question.Over the last few years dome and pod style tents like the Outwell Hartford XL tent have been over taken by tunnel tunnel tents like the Outwell Montana 6 tent. The reason for this has been the size of pitch that a Hartford XL (Dome and pod) style tent takes up. To give you an idea… the Camping and Caravan Club campsite/tent size limit has been about 5 mtrs wide by 8 mtrs long. This worked well for tunnel tents but badly for dome and pod tents. So this is why dome and pod style tents have taken a back seat to the more popular tunnel tents. From the 2010 season onwards the Camping and Caravan Club will be supplying a small percentage of extra large pitches to cope with tents like the Outwell Hartford XL and many other campsite owners are following on as well.
